4th of July 2010

I LOVE LOVE LOVE the 4th of July. Did you hear me I love it! Yep LOVE IT! I really don't know why? I guess I love the simplicity of the holiday not stressful, don't really have to worry about shuffling around the family and just so laid back and fun! Did I mention that I love it? Well I do. This year did not disappoint as usual. Of course we woke up and headed to the parade (ahemm the best parade in the state!) No seriously, candy, Frisbees,stuffed animals, beads, coupons of all sorts, and a giant water fight! (ok maybe they are missing a few really cool floats but the freebies and the water fight is AMAZING!) SO we played there and then headed over to the high school for face painting, gunny sack races (I was the only grown woman amongst a bunch of grown men, don't worry I wasn't embarrassed at all, ok maybe a little but only when they all beat me by like 5 minutes) free bounce houses, princess stories, a big helicopter candy/toy drop for all of the kids. seriously it was a blast. Then we headed to Costa Vida to use our free salad coupon that we got in the parade (SCORE!) and then we bbqed and fireworked with some of our awesome friends and neighbors! What a blast! God Bless America!!!

I got thinking this year was kind of like a 3 for one, on the actual 4th we had another cookout with some neighbors (goulash on the 4th????? who does that??) and then on Monday we BBQ with some old high school buddies who we haven't seen in ages. I tell ya this holiday is the best! Great weather and great food! ya gotta love it!
