So I know this is going to sound way weird, but hey I am weird! So Ever sense Matt and I have been married I have just wanted our "own" traditions! My family, and I am sure Matt's family, has a bazillion of little traditions for every holiday of the year. I LOVE THEM ALL! But they are not necessarily Matt's favorite and his aren't necessarily my favorite. So while being married and adding little kiddies left and right it has been really weird for me to figure out how and what we want to do for "our" traditions. When I think about it, it's dumb because I really believe that good traditions start on accident and are not planned.. It is just something that happens and everyone loves so it continues year after year. But I think this year we actually started one of our own and one that will hopefully
continue. Are you ready for it... it's really important ok maybe it's kind of dumb but we sure enjoyed our selves. This year on Christmas Eve Madi insisted that we made gingerbread men. SO we full on made ginger
bread men from scratch. As Mad and I smelled each spice and ingredient that went into these babies we were not impressed! and not excited to try them, more excited to just dress them up!! after our Christmas Eve feast Matt and the kids and I had a gingerbread
decorating contest. Which was hilarious!! Matt decided to really get into it and I'm not going to lie his gingerbread man was looking pretty snazzy! But Madi was determined not to let daddy win!! After they were all frosted Mad announced that she
would be the judge. We decided to give her three categories so that it would be kind of fair, and I didn't realize my little guys were in the running. But Madi won most creative, Max won the funniest and I won the cutest! Leaving poor Matt with no prize! It was pretty funny to
see madi make sure that Matt did not win even though we all knew that's Matt's prob looked the best! Madi HATES losing and HATES anything to not be just right. After our gingerbread decorating we opened jammies that I had made for the girls and bought for MR. Max! and then we read a
Christmas story and sang songs. We talked about why we celebrate Christmas and then at exactly 7:00 pm Madi jumped up and said we better get to bed so Santa can come! Matt and I looked at each other and then quickly agreed!!! When I was young every Christmas Eve my siblings and I would make a huge "fluffy" bed and we would all sleep together. It was so much fun. So Matt and I decided that we would put lights
around our bed and we would all sleep together too. It was fun for about 45 min and then all little kiddies ended up in their own beds! Maybe next year!!

Matt wins the best Dad award, that's what I'm thinkin'. Add that one to the list next year :)
I vote for Matt- Cute traditions although I don't know about the kids in your bed....how do you do Christmas if they are in there? Maybe just have them all sleep in the same room.. That's what me and my brothers did. It was super fun!
I love the lights around the bed! So cute.....and cookies are a tradition at our house and we love it!
