A few years back my hubby kind of had a poker obsession! (ok not the bad kind! he just loved having a few friends over and they would play for fun!) Well that phaze came and lasted a few months and was gone. So we had several poker chips left just sitting in our basement. The last couple of months we have transformed these poker chips into our own little family shop. The kids earn tokens and every monday night after our family night we open shop and they are allowed to buy whatever they can afford. I have been trying to think about how I can get my kids involved in the whole Christmas spirit of giving and I have decided that for December our Family shop is going to be only for their Christmas Shopping. Of course I am going to have to add some extra cool gifts in the shop and give some more token earning possibilities but Mad loves to earn tokens so I think this will be really fun for her and I might get a lot of extra help around the house! :)

That is a super cute idea!
We do tokens too, I started it like a year or so ago. But mine aren't as fancy as yours. Mine are just milk caps. But it is fun. She loves earning them and getting to use them for fun stuff. Hope it works for you as much as it has helped us.
