Auntie Rea

I am not really sure where to even begin with this post! Last week my aunt was put in the hospital with problems with her liver. Throughout the week she seemed to be doing better and over the weekend she took a turn for the worse. She is now in the ICU with basically every major organ in her body failing and being kept alive mostly by machine. I can't even express the sadness and heartache that I am feeling . Because, she seemed to be doing better I didn't get a chance to go visit her until Saturday night. At that point she was completely out of control. It was so awful. On Monday I was again able to go visit her and all I could do was sob. It was so hard for me to see my aunt hooked up to all kinds of machines and looking so completely miserable. My aunt Rea was always so full of life. She always had a smile on her face and was always the first to crack a joke. She has touched so many people's lives and she will be forever remembered. This whole experience has really shaken me up. This was all so sudden for my aunt and her children and it really is so true that you really never know what our Heavenly Father has in store for us. Last night my mom and I sat in the ICU room and my mom sobbed as she told me about when her mother died. My mom had just barely had my little brother plus 4 other kids. I tried to even imagine what it might be like to have to deal with that at this stage in my life and then to have to live my life without her. I hope so bad that I don't have to experience that and I look forward to the shopping trips ahead of us when I am 50 and she is 80 and Madi is complaining of how awful her children are being. I hope so badly that my aunt knows in her heart how much I love her and how much I will miss her!
