I copied this off my aunt's blog soley for my kids to read some day!! feel free to read if you want!
Some may think this disrespectful but as I was browsing through flickr for a pumpkin photo I found this picture and my immediate reaction was to miss my mom. IT looks just like her with her teeth out! Unfortunately Deana is the only one that can verify this fact. Mom wouldn't think this rude of me...in fact she would giggle and then call all of her friends to tell them that she had been "featured" on a blog! Oh I miss her! She was the funnest mom, when she was well. She would take her teeth out and chase us around the house, even as a teenager she could get me running, screaming and wetting my pants from laughter! The times that I miss her the most are when I am sick. Nobody takes better care of you than your mommy. She would tuck me in a bed of fresh, line dried sheets and give me 7-up. I miss that. That sounds so silly and childish but I think there is a little bit of child in all of us that never goes away. I wish she were here for me to have a grown up conversation with. I would love to talk to her about raising children and marriage. I would love to hear her stories of WWII again and have her tell them to my children. I try but I'm just sure I get them wrong. I would love to tell her I'm sorry for being a self centered teenager (although I know she knows I didn't mean any of the cranky, snotty things I may have said or done). She used to say to me (when I was annoyed with her), "someday you'll wish I was here to roll your eyes at." I would always think,'I will NEVER say that to my kids!' Yep....you guessed it, just the other day I said those very words and I could feel her laughing!!! She was right....I WISH SHE WERE HERE TO ROLL MY EYES AT!

So just remember this next time you hear that I am sick. I want fresh line dried sheets and 7-up. You know why you feel a connection with Grandma Jones? Because you are so much like her (not the crazy part - the fun, silly part).
xoxoxo
