I didn't really blog a whole lot of what went on in December sooooooo here we go...
At the beginning of the month we all packed up and went to the Festival of Trees with Holl, her kids, and grandma chewy. I had not been there in years. I loved it. We all loved it! What an amazing charity event. The trees were all beautiful and completely decked out. The game area that they had set up for the kids was amazing. The kids LOVED LOVED LOVED it and it was such a great way to start out the Christmas season and to feel that Christmas spirit. Pretty sure we will make this a yearly tradition. I would love to maybe even get involved in volunteering and helping out with the whole event this year.
Our ward kept up with the annual tradition of a "walk to Bethlehem" our youth sets up fire pits and songs, while narrating the story of Jesus's birth. I love this tradition as well. I love the unity of our neighbors while this is going on and I love that it is something that is a little bit different and something to look forward to every year.
This year they switched things up and had us meet back at our church building after for goodies and hot chocolate. They also had a cute little nativity station set up where the kids could dress up. Pretty sure Mr. Max and Mr. Hudson owned that stable!
And then of course there was the annual downtown Olive Garden ornament exchange!! I love these girls!! I miss all of the ones who can't make it because they live to stinkin far away but I love these girls to death. I love how with my cousins and aunt we can go months without speaking or seeing each other but when we do finally meet up it's not awkward for one minute! We all know that we love each other but that life is just busy. This night always makes me laugh and it is something both Madi and I look forward to every year. I'm thinking next year little Mia gets to join in on the fun.
So there you go a little 2010 December fun. Seems like every year it is beginning to be the same posts. But I find comfort in that. Comfort in knowing that we are still living and still celebrating life.
